I was asked to design & manufacture a semi automatic locating & clamping unit for a 96 position pipette box. That will be used on a pharmaceutical robotic system. I was supplied with information on over all space available & fixing method to the system. The materials safe to use in the environment. The unit could be manually loaded but automatically clamped. So i used a single acting pneumatic micro cylinder with spring return. This could be controlled by the system.
